Alamo City Patient Volunteers and Raises Money for Other Patients
Gloria Miranda, a patient at Fresenius Medical Care Alamo City in San Antonio, is dedicated to helping other patients.
Gloria Miranda has a family history of diabetes, and suffered kidney failure 13 years ago. Ever since, she has gone to Fresenius Medical Care Alamo City in San Antonio for in-center hemodialysis treatment. Gloria is on the kidney transplant list, but for now is doing her best to follow her dialysis treatment plan, and maintain a positive attitude about her condition.
At 63 years old, Gloria is committed to living her life to the fullest. She enjoys many activities, including bowling, bingo, jewelry making, and other arts and crafts projects. She also meets once a month with a support group for people who are visually impaired. Gloria is especially dedicated to helping other patients in whatever way she can, and also volunteers at local health fairs. Most recently, Gloria made dinner plates to help raise money for patients at her clinic.
Gloria appreciates the support of her friends and family, and since her son lives in San Antonio, they are able to visit each other often. Gloria's sisters live in Houston, so she uses the Fresenius Medical Care Patient Travel Service to arrange for treatment when she is visiting them.
