A Volunteer Who Cherishes Time with Her Family
Cecel Hollingsworth, Fresenius Medical Care dialysis patient, volunteers at the Dell Children's Medical Center coffee shop.
Cecel Hollingsworth is a 61-year-old patient who lives in Pflugerville, Texas. Born in Corsicana and raised in Tyler, Cecel moved to Houston where she stayed for 32 years. Here she was diagnosed with CKD nearly six years ago due to diabetes and high blood pressure. She initially received peritoneal dialysis but then switched to receiving in-center hemodialysis at Fresenius Medical Care Austin North.
Cecel makes sure that family comes first and gives back to the community. She retired from her job in Houston and moved back to Tyler to care for her late father. Shortly after her father’s passing, she moved to Pflugerville to be close to her daughter and granddaughter. Cecel volunteers twice a week at the Dell Children’s Medical Center coffee shop in Austin - inbetween the days she receives dialysis.
Cecel worked for 28 years for a mutual fund company as a retirement plan specialist in Houston. Now she spends time with her daughter and granddaughter, who both volunteer on weekends. She has family night every Friday, where she loves to cook a feast for her loved ones. She also enjoys knitting and crocheting as well.
In the future, Cecel would love to use the Fresenius Medical Care Patient Travel Service to take a cruise to Jamaica, the Bahamas, or the Caribbean.
Fresenius Medical Care is happy to announce that since this profile was written, Cecel has received a kidney transplant.
